Five-card Crossroads and six-card Relationship
Compare two options, and read both people's feelings fairly.

By the end you'll
- Read a choice spread to help the querent decide
- Read a relationship spread fairly to both people
The 5-card choice spread
Card 1 is the querent now. Cards 2–3 are Path A and its outcome. Cards 4–5 are Path B and its outcome.
- Read card 1 first to learn what the querent really wants
- Read Path A and Path B as a pair, comparing them point by point: risk, happiness, security
- Conclude which path better meets the need shown in card 1, without making the decision for the querent
The 6-card relationship spread
Cards 1–2 are you and the other person. Cards 3–4 are each person's feelings. Card 5 is the relationship now, and card 6 is where it is heading.
A 6-card relationship spread
Question: My ex has reached out again. Should we give this relationship another try?
Cards: Queen of Cups, position You; Knight of Cups, position The other person; Five of Cups, position Your feelings; Six of Cups, position Their feelings; Two of Swords, position The relationship now; Nine of Cups, position Where it is heading
Sample answer: You (Queen of Cups) are gentle and understanding, while they (Knight of Cups) arrive with sweet words and an offer. Your feelings still carry some hurt (Five of Cups), while they are thinking fondly of the good times (Six of Cups), so the two of you see the relationship from different angles. Right now it is stuck in indecision (Two of Swords). Where it is heading is the Nine of Cups: there is a real chance of getting what you hope for, if you talk openly about what made you break up last time.
Always read cards 3 and 4 against each other. The mismatch in feelings is the heart of the story.
Summary
- Choice spread: the querent card decides
- Relationship spread: compare both people's feelings
- Never make the decision for the querent
