The same card means different things in different positions. Practise telling one story within a timeframe.

Level 2 uses three cards. What's new is position: the same card means something different in a different position.
- The Tower in the Past position: an upheaval that forced you to start over
- The Tower in the Future position: watch for a sudden change on the way
Link three cards into one story
- Open each part with the position name, e.g. "Past: ..."
- Use linking words such as "because... so..." or "after... now..."
- Close with an answer in the time frame the querent asked about, such as 3 months or this year
Past / Present / Future
Question: What will my love life be like over the next 3 months?
Cards: Five of Cups, position Past; Six of Cups, position Present; Two of Cups, position Future
Sample answer: Past: Five of Cups. You were hurt by your last relationship and dwelt on what you lost. Present: Six of Cups. Your heart is softening now, and someone from the past, or someone who feels warm and familiar, may come into your life. Future: Two of Cups. Within 3 months there is a chance of a relationship where both of you give equally, if you can let the old one go.
Notice how each card follows from the one before: heartbreak → opening up → a balanced love.
Situation / Action / Outcome
In this spread the middle card is the advice. The outcome happens only if the querent follows the middle card.

Question: How should I deal with the money problems I'm facing right now?
Cards: Five of Pentacles, position Situation; Four of Pentacles, position Action; Nine of Pentacles, position Outcome
Sample answer: Situation: Five of Pentacles. Money is tight right now and you feel alone with the problem. Action: Four of Pentacles. Save and keep a strict hold on spending for a while. Outcome: Nine of Pentacles. If you manage that, you will stand on your own feet again and feel more secure.
